Ex-DU VC Prof Arefin rejoins MCJ dept

Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique resumed his academic duties at Department of Mass Communication and Journalism in Dhaka University today after completing his duties as vice-chancellor of the university for eight and a half years.

Prof Arefin signed his joining paper in the department chairperson's room this morning amid warm welcome from his colleagues. From now, he will take part in regular academic activities of the department, reads a press release.

He was elected president of Dhaka University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) for three consecutive times and was convener of the Pro AL backed “Blue Panel” for several times.

The term of Prof Arefin, who was elected VC on August 25, 2013, ended on August 24 this year. Earlier, on January 17, 2009, he assumed the office as 27th VC on temporary appointment.
