Lalbagh fire doused
A fire that broke out at a scrap shop near Dhaka’s Lalbagh Fort this evening was been doused after one hour of efforts. No casualty was reported.
The fire broke out at the shop around 6:48pm and soon engulfed an adjacent rickshaw garage, said Farid Uddin, an operator of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.
On information, four fire-fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze around 8:40pm, he said.
Kamrangirchar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Babu Kumar Saha told The Daily Star that the shop and some rickshaws of the garage were gutted in the fire.
The fire might have originated from an electric short circuit in the shop, added the OC quoting locals.
