10 burnt to death in Gazipur factory fire
At least 10 workers were burnt to death after a fire broke out at a fan factory in Gazipur this evening.
Firefighters recovered the bodies from inside the ravaged Luxury Fan Factory after dousing the fire that originated around 5:45pm, said Mamunur Rashid, a deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Four units of firefighters doused the fire at the three-storey tin-shed building in Harinal area after one-and-half hours of frantic efforts, he said adding that the cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
Most of the bodies were charred beyond recognition, Mamunur told The Daily Star.
The deadly fire broke out at a time when the people were reeling from the aftermath of another devastating fire at a factory in Keraniganj that left 19 workers dead.
The fire broke out at the Prime Pet and Plastic Industry factory in Keraniganj’s Chunkutia on Wednesday.
