Gold bars worth Tk 2.70cr found under Biman’s seat

Customs officials found 52 gold bars, weighing six kilogrammes, at Osmani International Airport in Sylhet this morning.

The gold bars were found in a bag under a seat of a Biman Bangladesh flight from Dubai, which landed at the airport in the morning, said Ahmedur Reza Chowdhury, assistant commissioner of customs.

On information, customs officials searched the aircraft and found the gold worth Tk 2.70 crore, our correspondent reports quoting the customs official.

Customs also detained three passengers but let them go after interrogation.
