Gunfight at Bidyut Bhaban over tender

Two groups of people exchanged gunshots at Bidyut Bhaban in Dhaka over submitting tender of Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) today.

The gunfight took place around 11:45am when the two groups faced off each other at the building premises, said a security guard of Bidyut Bhaban.

One Manna, who claimed himself to be a contractor, sustained injuries during the clash, Abdullah Al Mamun, sub-inspector of Shahbagh Police Station, told The Daily Star.

The parked car of Ahmed Kaikaus, additional secretary to power and energy ministry, came under attack during the gunfight, but none was hurt, the security guard added.
