HC directs Dhaka city corporations to prevent dengue
The High Court today directed the two Dhaka city corporations to take effective steps to prevent dengue mosquito.
The HC also asked the city authorities to submit a report to this court in two weeks.
The mayors and chief executive officers of Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation have been asked to submit the report including the steps for properly spraying medicine in the wards.
The HC bench of justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order during hearing of a writ petition moved by Advocate Manzill Murshid on behalf of Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh seeking its directive on the government to prevent air pollution in Dhaka.
During hearing Dhaka city corporations authorities submitted two separate reports before the court saying that they have taken many steps including awareness building for preventing dengue in the capital.
Manzill Murshid told the court that the dengue menace is very serious in the capital and many people including the finance minister have been reportedly affected by dengue mosquito.
So, effective steps need to be taken to prevent dengue menace.
