TIB places proposals for ensuring quality education
Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) today placed 12 recommendations to ensure quality education for sustainable development of the country’s younger generation.
TIB placed the recommendation at a human chain programme held at the Teacher-Student Centre premises on Dhaka University campus marking International Youth Day to be observed on August 12.
Students of various schools, colleges and universities took part at the human chain around 11:00am.
During the programme titled "Tarunner Protyasha: Chai Gunogoto Shikkha" (Youth Aspiration: Want Quality Education), TIB Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman presented the recommendation to fulfill sustainable development goals (SDGs) through ensuring active involvement of youths by facilitating quality education across the country.
The recommendations are:
1. Devising specific short, medium and long-term national strategy for ensuring quality education through active participation of the experts and youths.
2. Allotting proper budget and building modern infrastructure to carry out the strategies.
3. Ensuring the rights to voice opinions and protest against incongruity.
4. Ensuring active involvement of the youth in the realisation of the sustainable development goals.
5. Taking comprehensive measures to increase institutional ability, including curriculum and manpower, specifically at the education institution level.
6. Taking effective steps to establish research-based communications among universities and industrial sectors.
7. Increasing scope to practice creativity and intelligence.
8. Significantly increasing the budget allocation in the field of research.
9. Increasing the budget allocation and bank loans for youth entrepreneurs.
10. Creating markets and self-expression opportunities for youth entrepreneurs.
11. Proper implementation of the youth development guidelines.
12. Ensuring merit-based recruitment process devoid of corruption in every government and private sector.
