Sagor-Runi murder: Court seeks probe report July 26
A Dhaka court today asked investigation officer of journalist couple Sagor Sarowar and Meherun Runi killing case to submit a probe report before it on July 26.
Metropolitan Magistrate Khurshid Alam passed the order as Assistant Superintendent of Police Mohiuddin Ahmed of Rapid Action Battalion and also IO of the case, failed to submit the probe report today.
IO Mohiuddin appeared before the court in the morning and informed about the progress of the investigation. He further told the court that he would inform about the progress to a monitoring cell of the home ministry during a meeting scheduled to be held next month.
The court then asked the IO to inform details of the meeting later.

Three agencies, including the current investigation agency, Rab, failed to submit the probe report despite taking 50 dates.
On February 11 in 2012, Runi, senior reporter of private TV channel ATN Bangla, and her husband Sagar, news editor of another TV station, Maasranga, were murdered. Their only son, Megh, was inside their Pashchim Rajabazar house at the time of the murder.
After investigation by Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police and the detectives, Rab started probing the murders on April 18, 2012.
At least eight people including their "family friend" Tanveer Rahman had been arrested in connection with the killings.
Tanveer was released on bail later but the others are still in jail.
