Khaleda's lawyers scuffle to get in front of cameras
Lawyers of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia today got into a scuffle while competing to take the center stage in front of TV cameras on the court premises in Dhaka’s Bakshibazar area.
The fight broke out shortly after Khaleda left the court premises around 1:30pm following recording of her self-defense statements in Zia Orphanage and Zia Charitable Trust graft cases, says our reporter from the spot.
The incident occurred when President of Dhaka Bar Association Khorshed Alam, a lawyer for Khaleda, and his associates started arguing with another of her lawyers Advocate Mirza Al Mahmud regarding who will brief the media and be in front of the TV cameras.
The situation was brought under control with the intervention of senior lawyers, says our reporter.
Earlier, a special court in Dhaka granted bail to BNP chief Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage and Zia Charitable Trust graft cases upon a bond of Tk 1 lakh.
