Man held with 22 gold bars at Sylhet airport
Customs officials arrested a man along with 22 gold bars weighing around 2.5kg from Sylhet Osmani International Airport this morning.
The arrestee is Sadikur Rahman Samu,40, hailing from Provakarpur village in Jagannathpur upazila of Sunamganj district.
Mohammad Ali, an assistant commissioner of customs intelligence, said a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG-248 from Dubai landed at the airport around 7am.
On suspicion, customs officials challenged Sadikur and recovered the gold bars concealed in his shoes.
