Harassment allegation: Man goes under wheels while getting off bus to avert arrest

A man was crushed under the wheels of a bus when he was hurriedly getting down of the vehicle after two women passengers brought allegation against him of sexual harassment in Chattogram city this morning.

Deceased Md Ismail, 25, hailed from Chattogram’s Satkania upazila, was a worker at a steel re-rolling mill in Faujdarhat, reports our district correspondent quoting Md Nijam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Makulia Police Station.

Quoting the witnesses, the OC said Islamil allegedly harassed two sisters on the bus around 11:00am.

When the other passengers threatened to call 999 and hand him over to police, he tried to get down of the bus hurriedly.

As soon as he got off the running bus, he came under wheel of the bus in Notun Bridge area.

He was rushed to Chattogram medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, the OC also said.

The two passengers said they started hue and cry when Ismail touched them in an indecent way from the back seat, said the OC quoting witnesses.

Police were interrogating the two women regarding the incident when the report was filed around 12:45
