Man with Yaba in stomach held at Dhaka airport

A man with around 4180 Yaba tablets kept hidden in his stomach was held at the domestic terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today.

The arrestee is identified as Yeasin Mattabar, 37, Alamgir Hossain, additional superintendent of police (Operation and Media) of Airport Armed Police, told The Daily Star.

A team of Airport Armed Police arrested Yeasin while he was moving on a pavement in the domestic terminal area suspiciously, he said.

After a primary interrogation, the police team recovered the Yaba pills worth Tk 13 lakh from his stomach, said the police official.  

A case was filed with Airport Police Station under Narcotics Control Act, he added.
