Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad today sought prime minister’s intervention to rescue abducted businessman Aniruddha Kumar Roy and ensure security for his family.

The abduction incident of Aniruddha from the diplomatic area has frightened the minority community people, the leaders of the platform said at a press conference at Dhakeshwari Temple in Dhaka.

Unknown criminals forced Aniruddha, 53, managing director of RMM Group, into a microbus when he came out of a bank in the capital’s Gulshan area on Sunday.

Police said the abductors used fake number plate while picking him up in the microbus on that day.

Following the incident, Aniruddha's nephew Kollol Hazra filed a general diary with the Gulshan Police Station in this connection. Since then police could not trace him out.

While briefing media, Rana Dasgupta, general secretary of the organisation, said minority people are in grave concerns over the incidents of land grabbing and attacks on their religious institutions.

He also urged the law enforcers to take a step to rescue him immediately.

Contacted, Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station, said several teams are trying to rescue him and arrest the criminals.
