4 held for mugging that led to the death of a woman: police
Detectives today claimed to have arrested four people in connection with the death of a woman in Mugda. On February 29, muggers in a moving car snatched the purse of Tarina Begum Lipi, who then fell from the rickshaw she was on.
She was treated first at Mugda General Hospital and then at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) but her condition did not improve. She passed away around 6:45am on February 29, the day she was mugged.
Police today also recovered firearms, bullets and some stolen valuables from the possession of the four arrestees, according to a text message sent to media from the Detective Branch of police.
Lipi (38) and her family had come to Dhaka on February 24 from Sylhet's Sadar upazila to visit relatives in South Rajarbagh.
The incident occurred when Lipi and her family members were going to Kamalapur Railway Station to catch a train to Sylhet.
