48hrs auto-rickshaw strike in Dhaka, Ctg from Nov 28
CNG-run auto-rickshaw workers today threatened to go for a 48-hour strike from November 28 to press home their nine-point demands including registration of 5,000 auto-rickshaws in Dhaka and 4,000 in Chattogram cities.
Dhaka and Chattogram district CNG-run Auto-rickshaw Workers’ Okiya Parishad will observe the strike if the demands are not met by November 27, said a press release issued by the platform today.
Earlier in the day, the CNG-run Auto-rickshaw workers brought out a procession in front of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority office to meet their demands.
They also submitted a memorandum to the secretary of Road Transport and Highway Division through BRTA chairman.
