6 killed in Rajshahi road accident
Six passengers of a private car including its driver were killed and one was injured as it hit a tree on the side of the road in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi this afternoon.
Three of the deceased were identified as passengers of the car, Asia Begum, 35, Musabbir Hossain Akash, 40, and its driver Mahbubur Rahman, 35, reports our correspondent quoting Iftekhar Alam, additional superintend of police (Rajshahi sadar circle).
The trio died on the spot, the ASP said.
The other three succumbed to their injuries after being taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH), the ASP said adding that they were yet to be identified.
The Chapainawabganj-bound private car coming from Rajshahi hit a roadside tree in Kazipur area on Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj road around 12:30 pm after its driver lost control over the steering.
The victims were going to attend a wedding ceremony, the police official added.
The injured person was being treated at RMCH.
