Ambulance service of Savar hospital back on track
The residents of Savar Upazila Health Complex can breathe a sigh of relief now as the health complex appointed a new ambulance driver yesterday.
"We repeatedly informed the officials about the problem but they did not give importance," said a hospital official seeking anonymity.
After The Daily Star published a report titled "No ambulance service for five months" on October 17, the authorities took the problem seriously and immediate action followed, hospital sources said.
The residents of Savar thank the newspaper for publishing such a public interest report as the health complex got the driver immediately as a result of the report, said Rajib Mahmud, a resident of Savar Bank Colony area.
