Ansar Al Islam man held in Dhaka

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) claimed to have arrested a member of banned militant outfit Ansar Al Islam from Dhaka’s Badda area today.

The arrestee, Nur Alam alias Alam, 33, son of late Nasir Uddin, is an organiser of Ansar Al Islam in Badda area, Rab said.

Tipped off, a team of Rab-3 launched a drive in Post-Office area in East Badda around 6:00am and detained Alam from his residence, the elite force said in a press release.

The Rab members also recovered a laptop from his procession.

Alam was a fugitive accused in a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act filed earlier with Kadamtali Police Station in the capital.
