Bill on anti-discrimination law to be passed in next JS session: Law minister
Law Minister Anisul Huq today said the bill on the anti-discrimination law will be passed in the next session of parliament if it cannot be passed in the current session.
The government is working for formulating the anti-discrimination law and it is now at the final stage, he said.
The minister said this while talking to reporters after attending as chief guest to inauguration of the 22nd annual general meeting of Asthma Association Bangladesh at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka.
He said the government has formulated the digital security act and turn it to effect.
“Now we will strengthen the cybercrimes tribunal in order to properly implement the digital security act. We are also vigilant so that the digital security law is not misused in any manner,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Minister Anisul told the inauguration meeting that around one crore people of total 17 crore of the country are suffering from asthma diseases which is not a news of happiness.
“We will have to reduce air pollution which is one of the causes of asthma,” he said, the heath sector’s development which has taken place during the regimes of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led governments did not occur during the regime of any other government.
He also said appointments of 10,000 new doctors are under process.
Asthma Association Bangladesh’s President Prof Dr Bashir Ahmed presided over the function where Bangladesh Medical Association’s (BMA) President Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Shwadhinata Chikitsak Parishad’s President Prof Dr M Iqbal Arslan and BMA’s acting secretary general Dr Md Kamrul Hasan Milan, among others, spoke.
