Body formed to probe adverse reaction to injections at RMCH
Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) authorities have formed a committee to investigate the reason behind 14 children falling even sicker at the paediatrics ward of the hospital last night after they were administered four injections.
Professor Mohammad Hasan Tarik of RMCH will lead the probe committee, our Rajshahi correspondent reports.
The hospital authorities said they already stopped using the four injections that caused severe convulsion, rise of body temperature and respiratory problems in 14 children, aged between two and eight.
The injections were supplied to the hospital by state-owned Essential Drugs Company Ltd, Prof Tarik said adding that the ampules will be sent to Bangladesh Standards Testing Institution (BSTI) for investigation.
The children were immediately treated after their condition deteriorated following the injections.
