Locals blocked the Demra - Rampura and Demra - Jatrabari roads after the Jumma prayers protesting the incident, the police official added.

The road blockades were removed around 4:30pm after the police high-ups went to the spot and assured the protesting people of taking actions.

The protesters also vandalised around 15 vehicles during the road block.

The incident takes place barely three weeks into the death of Abrar Ahmed, the university student whose death in road crash triggered countrywide protests.
