Cop placed on 2-day remand in robbery case

A Dhaka court today placed a sub-inspector of Detective Branch of police on a two-day remand in connection with a robbery case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ashek Imam passed the order after police produced Syed Md Rashedul Alam before the court, seeking a seven-day remand prayer this afternoon.

Police arrested Rashedul from Bhuighor of Fatullah in Narayanganj yesterday in connection with the case.

The case was filed with Wari Police Station on December 18 after some five to six unknown persons looted Tk 5.5 lakh from two persons -- Siam Uddin and Mahmudul Hasan Munna at gun point on December 5.
