Cops among 3 hurt in ‘crude bomb blast’ in Gulistan
Three persons, including two traffic constables and a community policeman, were injured in a “crude bomb blast” in Gulistan area of Dhaka this evening.
The crude bomb went off near Gulistan Cinema Hall around 7:35pm during load-shedding, said Shiblee Noman, additional deputy commissioner (Motijheel Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Two traffic constables and a community policeman were injured in the blast, the police official said.
The injured -- traffic constables Nazrul, 45, and Liton, 42, and community policeman Ashik, 28, -- were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
Meanwhile, explosive experts have arrived on the spot to determine the type of explosive used in the blast, Noman added.
Further details of the incident could not be known immediately.
