The Government has decided to appoint Vice President of Chittagong (South) Awami League SM Abul Kalam as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kuwait.
Kalam is a well known businessman, social worker and political leader, according to a Foreign Ministry press release today.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. During his career, Kalam served as the President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also served as the Director of Agrani Bank and as a Member of the Chittagong Stock Exchange.
Kalam was also the member of Chittagong Development Authority. He is currently serving as the Vice President of Chittagong (South) Awami League, the release added.
Kalam obtained his BSc from the University of Dhaka. He is married, with two daughters and a son.
