Dhaka to discuss migration with int'l community

Bangladesh will negotiate with the international community in an upcoming conference to adopt comprehensive policies on the migration issue.

The 9th Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) is scheduled to be held in Dhaka in December this year, said Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque at a press briefing yesterday.

Peter Sutherland, the UN special representative of the secretary-general for international migration, will visit Dhaka on January 20-21 in this regard.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali will leave for Saudi Arabia today.
