Dhaka Lit Fest to kick off on Nov 7
The ninth edition of Dhaka Lit Fest (DLF), an internationally recognised literary festival, will be held at Bangla Academy in the capital from November 7 to 9.
Organisers of the festival held a press conference at the Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka city today.
This year’s line-up features award-winning author and Booker prize Monika Ali, literary icon Shankar, Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Jeffrey Gettleman, historian William Dalrymple, writer Shashi Tharoor, DSC Prize-winning writer HM Naqvi, poet Tishani Doshi, award-winning author Swapnamoy Chakraborty, Syed Manzoorul Islam, Imdadul Haq Milan among others.
Over 200 speakers, performers and thinkers, representing five continents, will take part in the three-day event with over 90 sessions, all of which are free and open for all.
One of the special highlights of this year will be a screening of Hasina: A Daughter’s Tale, and an appearance by Shankar.
The festival Director Sadaf Saaz among others was present at the press conference.
