Chattogram slum fire doused

A fire that broke out at a slum in Panchlaish area of Chattogram city this morning was doused almost one and half hours later.

The fire originated around 10:20am at Decoration Goli slum which houses nearly 100 shanties, our staff correspondent reports.

Four units of the firefighters fought the blaze for around one hour and brought it under control at 11:15am, said Rezaul Karim, senior station officer at Agrabad Fire Service and Civil Defence.

They finally doused the fire at around 11:30am, the official added.

The origin of the blaze and amount of losses caused by it could not be determined yet, he also said.

No casualties were reported in the incident.
