Fire at Dhaka Bar Association brought under control
A fire that broke out at Dhaka Bar Association this morning has been brought under control after 45 minutes of frantic efforts.
The fire started around 9:20am at the conference room of the bar association, its General Secretary Asaduzzaman Rochi told The Daily Star.
Informed by the association’s Senior Assistant General Secretary Omar Saif, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
The conference room was completely destroyed in the fire which originated due to an electric short circuit, said Senior Station Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence (Sadarghat) Mohammad Ali.
No one was injured in the incident. They incurred a loss of Tk 30 lakh in the fire, Asaduzzaman said.
