Long queues for Eid advance bus tickets

Private bus operators in Dhaka started selling advance tickets this morning for home-goers ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

There are long queues seen at Gabtoli and Kalyanpur bus counters as the sales of the bus tickets began around 6:30am, reports our staff correspondent from the spot.

Apart from these, Eid holidaymakers thronged the capital’s different bus counters including Hanif Paribahan, Shyamoly, SR Paribahan and Al Hamra Paribahan.

Abdus Samad and Farhad seekin for Kurigram-bound bus tickets told The Daily Star they were waiting in front of Gabtoli’s Hanif Paribahan counter since 9:00pm last night.

The holidaymakers’ journey ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr will be smooth compared to previous years, said Nazrul Islam, secretary of Road Transport and Highway Division, on May 9.
