Man held with 10 gold bars at Dhaka airport

A man was held at the domestic terminal of Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today with 10 gold bars.
Airport police detained Erfanul Islam, 42, a passenger of domestic flight, from the parking area of the domestic terminal at the airport around 3:00pm.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Alamgir Hossain, additional superintendent of Airport Armed Police, told The Daily Star the gold bars weighing 1.16kg was found inside his rectum.
The gold is worth Tk 45 lakh, he said.
Erfan, hailing from Chattogram, came to the airport by a plane from Sylhet around 2:30pm.
