Pregnant woman killed in Dhaka road crash

A pregnant woman was killed as a truck hit her while she was crossing a road in Postogola area of Dhaka today.

The deceased, Suma Begum, 40, wife of Asad Mia from Keraniganj in Dhaka, was pregnant, Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost, told The Daily Star.

The victim was crossing the road near Postogola bridge with her younger son while the accident took place around 12:00pm, Tanmay Mia, victim's elder son, said.

She was rushed to DMCH where the doctors declared her dead around 1:00pm, he added.
