Rajshahi University student found dead at mess

A female student of Rajshahi University (RU) was found dead at a mess in the city early today.

The deceased -- Mobashshira Tahsin Ira, from Kendua upazila of Netrakona district -- was a third-year student of law department, Head of the department Prof Hasibul Alam Prodhan confirmed.

Imran Hasan, a sub-inspector of Motihar Police Station, said Mobashshira's body was found hanging from the ceiling in her room at the mess in Mirzapur area, adjacent to the university, around 3:00am.

The body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, our RU correspondent reports quoting the SI.  

Mobashshira had conversation with the other resident students at the mess last night, one of the students said.

After 1:00am, she did not respond when other students knocked the door of her room. Later, they broke open the door and found her body hanging from the ceiling.

On information, police and Prof Hasibul rushed to the spot immediately.
