Security beefed for Prof Muntassir Mamoon
Police have beefed up security for Prof Muntassir Mamoon after he filed a diary seeking security in purview of receiving death threat from a militant group.
Dhanmondi Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Pervez Islam told The Daily Star today round-the-clock security has been arranged for him.
“We have accepted his GD. We sent forces to his house,” he said, adding that now police guard has been stationed on the perimeter of his house and inside.
Earlier around 12:30pm today, Prof Mamoon filed the GD seeking security.
Yesterday, eminent individual and rights activist Sultana Kamal also filed diary with police over the same grounds of militant threat and sought security.
In this regard, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan today said all citizens threatened by militant or terror outfits will be given special attention and protection.
