Students of 7 DU affiliated colleges block road
Students of seven colleges affiliated with the Dhaka University (DU) today blocked the busy Nilkhet and New Market roads in Dhaka to force the authorities accept their demands.
Around 250-300 students gathered at Nilkhet intersection around 10:00am and formed a human chain, locals said.
But they later blocked the road and halted vehicular movement, leading to a massive gridlock in the area.
The protesters said they want the DU authorities to publish results within 90 days, explain mass failures of students and review the exam papers.
They also demanded separate administrative building for seven colleges, at least 14 monthly classes by DU teachers, launching of separate academic calendar and crash programmes to cut session jam.
