Travel agents today demonstrated in Sylhet demanding direct flights to Jeddah of the national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB) formed a chain in front of the Biman office in Sylhet city, our local correspondent reports.

Their demonstration comes after submitting a memo and a 10-day ultimatum to Biman back in March 10, demanding direct Sylhet-Jeddah flights.

Jiaur Rahman Khan Rezwan, general secretary of ATAB, Sylhet, said: “We gave them ten days’ ultimatum; but Biman is not hearing our demand”.

“Passengers from Sylhet are being neglected and deprived of facilities by the national flag career” Rezwan also alleged at the human chain.
