Two unnamed men sued for sexually harassing JnU student

Two people were sued for sexually harassing a female student of Jagannath University (JnU) near the Victoria Park in Old Dhaka today.

The victim filed the case with Sutrapur Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act this noon.

"The case was filed against two unnamed persons," Kazi Wazed Ali, officer-in-charge of Sutrapur Police Station, told The Daily Star.

"We found the incident to be true after primary investigation," the OC said, adding, "We are trying to identify the culprits with the help of CCTV footages located the nearby building of the spot."

In the complaint, the victim stated that two unknown persons stopped her on the way to JnU in front of the Khan Plaza in the Kolta Bazar area this morning and sexually harassed her before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.

Contacted, JnU Proctor Mostafa Kamal said the university authorities talked to the law enforcers for taking necessary action in this regard.
