Youth stabbed dead in Banani

A 19-year-old youth was stabbed to death by unidentified criminals in Dhaka's Banani area last night.

The incident took place when Monir Hosen, 19, was walking on the road beside Shetu Bhaban in Banani around 11:30pm, said Fazle Islam, sub-inspector (SI) of Banani Police Station.

Police rescued Monir in a critical state after he was stabbed and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, the SI said.

Monir, son of Habibur Rahman of Nilphamari, used to live in East Nakhalpara area, the police official also said.

Police were trying to arrest in this connection. The body was kept at DMC morgue for autopsy.
