Rab assures foolproof security at Shaheed Minar

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today assured foolproof security around the Central Shaheed Minar premises tomorrow for the International Mother Language Day.

Director general of the elite force, Benajir Ahmed, ruled out the existence of any specific threats and gave the assurance at Shaheed Minar, Dhaka Unviersity in a press brief.

“There is no specific threat now,” he said, adding that the elite force will maintain its strong stand against militancy and terrorism with diligence and professionalism.

Rab has dispatched dog squads, sweeping force, bomb disposal units, special strike force, motorcycle and car patrol teams to ensure vigilant supervision of security, he said.

A central control room has been set up near Shaheed Minar, from where all the activities and security steps will be monitored and coordinated.
