A Rajshahi University student was stabbed allegedly by three Bangladesh Chhatra league (BCL) men on the campus last night.
Injured Saiful Islam Hridoy, who just completed his masters degree from the marketing department of the university, was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, reports our RU correspondent.
Students caught one of the attackers Hamja and handed him over to local police. Hamja is an activist of BCL RU unit and a first-year student of mathematics department.
RU Proctor Professor Lutfor Rahman, who visited Saiful at RU medical centre, told The Daily Star that Saiful was attacked near Third Science Building when he was on his way to his dormitory around 8:30pm.
The injured student was first taken to RU Medical Center, but doctors referred him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
The three BCL members harassed Saiful when he was sitting with one of his female friends at Third Science Building in the evening, the friend claimed.
They locked into altercation when Saiful protested the harassment, she added.
Saiful Islam Hridoy filed a case against Hamja, said Officer-in-Charge (investigation) of Motihar Police Station Mahbub Alam.
