SC accepts law ministry’s proposal on promoting additional district judges
The Supreme Court today accepted the law ministry’s proposal to promote the additional district judges having 15 years of job experience including one-year of judicial duty to the post of district judge.
Earlier, the additional district judges needed two years of judicial duty including 15 years of job experience.
The law ministry had proposed to the SC to take the decision to promote the additional district judges having one-year experience of performing judicial functions in the 15 years of service.
The SC took the decision at a full-court meeting of the High Court judges with Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah, who is carrying out responsibilities of the chief justice, in the chair.
The full-court meeting also fixed 63 days of holidays for the Supreme Court from next year.
