9th grader found dead in Ctg, friend detained

Police recovered the body of a ninth grader on Naval Academy road in Patenga in Chittagong city yesterday.

Deceased Tasfia Amin, 18, daughter of Md Amin of OR Nizam Road No. 3 and a class nine student of Sunshine Grammar School.

Her friend Adnan Mirza was picked up for interrogation soon after the body was recovered.

“She was missing since Tuesday evening,” our Chittagong correspondent reports quoting Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patenga Police Station Abul Kashem.

“Locals spotted the body of Tasfia on the concrete block at Sea Beach’s area of Ghat No: 18 yesterday morning and informed police,” said OC Abul Kashem adding that her father and uncle identified the body.

Quoting the father, who is a businessman, the OC said she went out from her residence Tuesday evening and since then she was traceless.

“Her mobile phone was found beside the body but it had no SIM card,” told the OC adding that an injury mark was found on her forehead.

The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for autopsy.
