Tax-dodged car seized with apology in note

Customs officials today seized an abandoned Land Cruiser jeep worth around Tk five crore, including tax, from Dhaka’s Gulshan.

A team of customs intelligence raided Gulshan area today in search of the vehicle, only to find it abandoned and without a number plate on Road 112 in Gulshan 1 with a note.

The note read: “I am leaving my vehicle. I am not the importer of this vehicle. I urge the law enforcers to detain the importer. I am respectful to the law. I congratulate the customs team to have been carrying out the good work.”
