‘Teen’ kills rival’s 4-yr-old sister in Dhaka

A four-year-old girl has been killed allegedly by a teenager following a quarrel with her brother in Dhaka’s Darussalam area.

Police recovered the slit throat body of Khadija from a neighbour’s house in Diabari area around 2:00am today nine hours after she was reported missing, said Selimujjaman, officer-in-charge of Darussalam Police Station.

The body wrapped in a piece of cloth was kept inside a basket, the OC said.

Khadija’s family informed the local police after she went missing since 5:00pm yesterday.

Police detained Rakib, 14, son of the neighbour who primarily confessed to his involvement in the murder, the police official added.

Quoting Rakib, police said he killed the minor girl following an altercation with her brother over a trifle matter.
