2 ‘Neo JMB’ men held in Dhaka

Police today claimed to have arrested two active members of militant outfit Neo JMB from Gabtoli Bus Terminal area in Dhaka.

Tipped off, a team of Counter Terrorism unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested the duo -- Md Sabur Mia alias Hokkul, 22, and Md Rinku Mia, 19 -- yesterday evening, Md Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and PR) of DMP, told The Daily Star.

Police have also seized 25 detonators and two machetes from their possession, he said.

Upon primary interrogation, it was known that they were meeting at Gabtoli area with other members of their team in a bid to carry out subversive activities, the police official added.

A case has been filed with Darussalam Police Station in this connection.
