Bernicat meets foreign secy

Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque held a sudden meeting with US Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Bernicat in Dhaka today.

The hourlong meeting started at 10:30am at State Guest House Padma.

"We’ve a deep ongoing partnership. US continues to value that partnership,” Bernicat told journalists after the meeting.

She said it was a regular meeting, and they discussed the deep and ongoing partnership between the two countries.

“The friendship that the two countries share together, US believes that’s the case yesterday and that’s the case today,” she said.

A senior official told The Daly Star that it was a regular meeting.
