CID arrests 16 frauds in Dhaka

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today claimed arrest of 16 fraudsters who amassed wealth through cheat and deception from Dhaka.

An impersonating customs officer and his two assistants were held from Bailey Road, Syeda Jannat Ara, special superintendent of police, said.

She was speaking at a press conference in city.

The arrestees are Khandakar Md Faruk alias Omar Mobin, 52, the impersonating officer, Md Ilias alis Noor Islam Sarkar, 38 and Md Saiful Islam, 30.

On the other hand, 13 members of a gang were arrested from Natun Bazar area in Baridhara for taking money from people enticing them with jobs abroad.
