Blogger Rasel Pervez no more

Writer and blogger Rasel Pervez died of cancer at a city hospital this morning.

He was 49.

Rasel breathed his last around 11:30am while undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital, said a duty manager of the hospital.  

Rasel had completed his masters in the United States. He then went to Japan for a PhD. He recently returned home after getting diagnosed with cancer, his fellow bloggers wrote in a Facebook post uploaded to commemorate him.

Blogger Subrata Shuvo on his Facebook wrote Rasel had nearly 2,000 blogs.

"Before I met Rasel Bhai, I could not understand how a man could be so wise and such a gentleman," he wrote, recounting his memory with Rasel.

Subrata said he was envious of the depth of Rasel's knowledge and despite being a student of physics, there was no branch of knowledge in which Rasel had not weighed in on.
