Turkey issues travel ban on 6 countries including Bangladesh
Turkey issued ban on travel and flights from six countries including Bangladesh and India due to the coronavirus variants.
The other countries under the travel ban are Brazil, South Africa, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
The ban will be effective from July 1 and will continue till further notice, Turkey's Interior Ministry said in a release on Monday.
Following a recommendation from the health ministry, communication by road, sea, air and railway from these countries will remain halted from July 1 (Thursday).
Those who arrive from other places but have been in the countries listed within the last 14 days will need to show a negative PCR test completed a maximum of 72 hours before entry and they will need to quarantine for 14 days, it said.
According to Worldometers, Turkey reported a 54 lakh coronavirus cases so far and 49,634 patients have died.
According to the country's government data, as of Friday, more than 3,0150,000 people have received first dose of Covid-19 vaccines and 83 lakh people received two shots of the vaccine.
