Shariatpur under lockdown from 6pm today
Shariatpur district will be under lockdown for an indefinite period from 6:00pm today to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The district administration took the decision following a recommendation of the local committee on coronavirus prevention affairs, said a notice signed by Kazi Abu Taher, deputy commissioner of Shariatpur.
As per the decision, public entry and exit to and from the district have been restricted until further instruction.
All kinds of public transport and people's movement will also be restricted.
Transportation of agricultural products, food items, goods, medical equipment and daily essentials would remain out of purview of the lockdown.
Legal action will be taken if anybody violates the conditions of the lockdown, the notice added.
