DU question paper leaked thru’ printing press
The question papers of Dhaka University “Gha unit” admission test for the year 2015 and 2016 were leaked through a printing press on Indira Road which allegedly printed the question papers.
With tracking down and interrogation of Raqibul Islam, 29, the sports officer of Natore, a key link to the question paper leaks was unearthed, Molla Nazrul Islam, special superintendent of Criminal Investigation Department, said at a press briefing at CID headquarters in Malibagh of Dhaka.
Between December 7 and December 14, law enforcers made separate drives and arrested a total of 10 people, including Raqibul, suspecting their involvement in the question paper leaks.
The law enforcers first arrested five DU students, based on whose information two more students of Rajshahi University were arrested in this connection, according to a press release of CID.
Later, they arrested Natore sports officer Raqibul, from whom they came to know about the involvement of printing press worker Khan Bahadur and one Saiful with the question paper leaks.
Khan Bahadur and Saiful are among the 10 arrestees, according to the press release.
The story of the big leak
Raqibul, who shared a room with Saiful in Uttara around 2015, came to know that his roommate’s friend Khan Bahadur was working at the printing press on Indira Road.
The Natore official, then a college teacher, requested Saiful to help him acquire the question paper to ensure the admission of his brother to the university, leading Saiful to scheme a way to make money through this process.
This led to the question paper leaks of the Gha-unit admission test of Dhaka University both in 2015 and 2016.
Five of the arrestees have given confessional statements, three are in remand and two of them have been presented in court with remand prayer.
